Yvonne Marianne Harrison

Yvonne Harrison died peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton, on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Her daughters would like to thank Dr. Rachel Gow and CTU West nurses Michelle, Carla, and Sean for the incredible care and compassion they shared with both Yvonne and us while Mom was in their care. We also thank the wonderful staff at Meadowlands Retirement Community, Paramed, and the transfusion clinic at St. Joseph's Hospital for the care they provided Mom over the past three years. They all became members of Yvonne's extended family. Mom had many interests, including travel, Girl Guides, activities with her churches, camping, scrapbooking and other crafts, and singing in choirs. She was thoughtful and kind, funny and feisty, and we learned so much from her. This past year, she celebrated both her 60th wedding anniversary with her beloved husband, John, and her 90th birthday, for which she received many videos, cards, and flowers from loved ones around the world. Yvonne was grateful for a long life, well lived, something epitomized when she organized her own "celebration of life" at the age of 85, a wonderful event shared with family and friends in her home. She is loved and will be missed by her husband, John, her daughters, Andrea (Bill Chambré) and Susan (Scott Bryant), and her grandchildren, Sam and Cody and Emily and Bobbie. The family will be having private commemorations online and in Halifax. If you'd like to leave a note for the family, you can do so on the Affordable Burial and Cremation website.
