William "Bill" Anthony COUGHLIN

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Bill Coughlin. He was born on April 1st 1938 in Toronto, Ontario.He passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital (Charlton Ave) Hamilton on the ICU Ward on Sunday, February 25th, 2024 with his loving niece Anne by his side. He was in his 86th year. A Special Thank You to all of the ICU Staff and Especially to Night Nurse Linda for their wonderful care and compassion during Bill's illness and passing. Bill is Predeceased by his Brother Ralph (Annie) Coughlin, Sister Geraldine "Gerry" (Charles) Crosby, Niece Anne Wilson nee Crosby, Nephew Lester (Orva) Coughlin, Great Nephew Rod Kelly, and Cousins Al (Ruth) Hougle, Butch Hougle and Roberta Hougle. He will be sadly missed by his Nephews Roy Wilson and Rory (Elaine) Coughlin and Family and Great Nephew Christopher Wilson and his Niece Anne Coughlin and Great Niece Nancy Kelly and Cousins Jim (Gloria) Hougle and Family. Also missed by his Good Friend and Caregiver Bob Wallace and their Loving Cats Mason and Rueben who will be lovingly cared for by Bob. He will be missed by many Friends from his Apartment Building and his Longtime Friends from The Independent Order of Oddfellows Unity Lodge No 47 of Hamilton, of which Bill was a longtime member.

A Special Thank You to Friends Pat Campbell and Marilyn Wilson from the Lodge for all of their Kindness, Help and Guidance during this sad time. Bill worked for Capital Equipment for many years until their closure and with Canada Customs and Revenue Agency for 15 years until his retirement in June 2008.

Cremation has taken place through Affordable Burial and Cremation. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 at 10:30 am at The Old Hamilton Cemetery at 777 York Blvd Hamilton (Across from Dundurn Castle). Location for Service is entrance at York Blvd and go past the Cemetery Office to Section A-1, Lot 9, Grave 3. Officiating the Service will be The Independent Order of Oddfellows Unity Lodge No 47 Hamilton. Everyone is welcome to attend the Service.
