Wayne Joseph Thomas Scott

Wayne passed away peacefully at his home on September 23, 2026, in his 81st year. Jennifer, his loving wife of 51 years at his side. Wayne's greatest joy in life was his family, and he poured his heart into being a devoted husband, father, and Grampy. He is held close in the hearts of his sons Michael (Steffany) and James (Tim), and was incredibly proud of his three grandchildren, Taylor, Dylan, and Morgan. Predeceased by his dear parents, Gifford and Charlotte, Wayne loved and laughed often with his two sisters, Beverley and Brenda, and is fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Born in Campbellton, New Brunswick, Wayne moved to Niagara Falls at the age of six, where he grew up, though he always returned to Campbellton often throughout his life. He was a hardworking family man, spending much of his career working with horses. Wayne was an exceptionally kind-hearted, friendly, and fiercely loyal man who made friends wherever he went, maintaining several lifelong friendships that meant the world to him. He will be deeply missed for his sense of humour and his endless supply of funny stories that always brought laughter to his family, friends, and coworkers. Outside of work, his true passion was the outdoors; he was always a happy camper, completely at peace just sitting by the campfire with a Coors Light in hand, his golden retriever by his side, and sports on the radio.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Juergens and the staff at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, Dr. Shah and the staff at the Stonechurch Family Health Centre, and the staff at Westmount Pharmacy for their exceptional care and compassion. Your dedication and support meant the world to Wayne and our family over the past year.

A Celebration of Life will be held where Wayne was always happiest and found his true peace, Valens Lake Conservation Area (Powell Pavilion). Family and friends are welcome to drop in on Saturday, October 17th between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. As this is an outdoor gathering in October, please remember to dress for the weather. Please note that in keeping with park regulations, Valens Lake is an alcohol-free zone.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Assistance Program (CAP) or the Hamilton Conservation Foundation, with donations to the foundation directed specifically to Valens Lake in Wayne's memory.
