Thomas John Curran, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, peacefully passed away at his home in Waterdown on September 1, 2025, at the age of 79. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, on August 13, 1946, Thomas's journey through life was marked by his profound kindness and thoughtfulness towards everyone he encountered. He was known for his generosity, always willing to share whatever he had, exemplified by his readiness to give the last dollar in his pocket to someone in need.
Thomas was a devoted family man who took immense pride in attending all of his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. His presence was a source of support for his children, often being the sole parent among the spectators. He created an environment filled with love, encouragement, and memories that his family will cherish forever.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Curran, nee Churchill. Together, they raised a loving family that includes their sons: Stephen Curran, partnered with Kerry Wood; Brian Curran; Cory Curran; Tommy Curran, partnered with Christina Finske; and Michael Curran, partnered with Laurel Whalen-Curran. Thomas's legacy is carried on by his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy: Lillian Curran, Hayley Curran, Ryley Curran, Cameron Curran, Colin Whalen-Curran, Aiden Whalen-Curran, Jordin Curran, and Blake Curran.
Thomas is also survived by his brothers-in-law Bill Mair, Claude Luscombe, and Albert Churchill; his sister-in-law, Carol Luscombe; and numerous nieces and nephews: Paul, Joanne, Rick, Dave, Joe, Janice, Karen, Albert, Yvonne, Burt, Dennis, Chris, Richard, Scott, Kim, Jeff, Tom, Pamela, Graham, Rob, and Laura.
He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas Sinclair Curran Sr. and Margaret Curran, his sister Maureen Curran-Wilkins, and his brother Richard Curran. Sister in law's Rose Churchill and Pat Mair.
As we remember Thomas John Curran, we celebrate a life devoted to family, kindness, and unwavering support. His spirit will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Celebration of Life for Thomas Curran this Sunday, September 7th from 2PM to 6PM at the Crossroads Building 1295 N Service Rd, Burlington, Ontario L7P0V5. Please use front entrance to security. It will be held in Suite 202. Second floor. There is an elevator and stairs to the room. drinks and food will be provided. All are welcome. See link for directions and image of Crossroads building.
