Thelma
Scott
July 8, 1930 – May 25, 2026
Ancaster Old Town Hall
1:00 - 4:00 pm (Eastern time)
Thelma Mary Veronique Scott (née Arsenault) passed away peacefully on May 25th, 2026, at the age of 95 at The Meadows Long Term Care in Ancaster. Born in Cape Egmont, Prince Edward Island on July 8th, 1930, Thelma was known for her strength, intelligence, humour, and beauty. Over the course of her life she was many things — a nurse, ballroom dancer, entrepreneur, gifted cook, and loyal friend — but most importantly, she was a loving mother and grandmother. In retirement, she enjoyed cooking and baking, crafting traditional PEI hooked rugs, and volunteering for years at the Good Shepherd Centre food bank, where she was named Volunteer of the Year in 2005. Thelma is predeceased by her son Blair, former husband Doug, siblings Theresa, Alyre, Leo and Agnes. She is survived by her children Simone and Brant, granddaughter Amanda, siblings Max, Fred, Eileen, and Anna, with extended family all over, including Prince Edward Island, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The family expresses heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Meadows, Carrington Place and to her many devoted caregivers and longtime friends. A celebration of Thelma's life will be held on Saturday, July 4th, 2026, from 1–4 pm at the Ancaster Old Town Hall, 310 Wilson St. E, Ancaster, ON. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Good Shepherd Centres, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. "L'Acadie est toujours dans mon coeur"
