It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Susanne Marie Allen (nee McGaugh) on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 93 years of age. She is reunited with her husband Reginald Lloyd Allen (1984), daughter Darlene Allen (2007), her parents Chester and Frances McGaugh, and siblings Tommy, Zita, Margaret, and Earl. Cherished mother to Richard, Karen, Susanne (Jim), Mary, and Marlene. She was also a loving grandmother to 7 and Nana2 to 10 great-grandchildren.

Mom was born and raised in Bear River, PEI and often visited after dad passed. She lived in Montague for many years and often spoke so fondly of her time there with family and friends. We heard so many stories of her square dances, kitchen ceilidhs, and all the fun that was had with family and friends. It’s as if we were there too. Mom was proud to have earned her Certificate for a Certified Nurse Aide and worked at the Ontario Hospital before marrying and having children. Her passions were knitting, baking bread, buns, biscuits, beaver dams, and her beef stew with dumplings; along with her homemade jams and preserves will truly be missed.  And let’s not forget about her bingo obsession.

A special thank you to Dr. Michael Savatteri for his compassion and listening ear throughout her journey; mom truly enjoyed your visits in hospice; and to her amazing hospice team for the compassionate care provided to not only mom, but to the family.

Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to the McNally House Hospice or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
