It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Hogg on July 25, 2026, peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital. Born on August 9, 1925, Shirley was known for her kind, caring personality, her passion for knitting sweaters, scarves and hats for her friends and family, and for baking brownies, pies and rhubarb cakes that can only be described as remarkably delicious. She was a lifelong fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, an avid gardener and thoroughly enjoyed singing hymns at church.

As a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Shirley cherished the time she spent with family, especially her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Milton (2008) who was a retired Hamilton Police Officer; her adored son, Stephen (Kathryn) (2023); and her brother, Billy (2018) (Doreen 2016).

Shirley is survived by her brother, Donald (Nadia); her children, Karen (Roy, deceased), Michael (Denise), David (Lenora, deceased) Peter (Gaye), Kris (Lew, deceased), Kathy (Jim); grandchildren, Margaret, Will, Mitch, Rebecca, Valerie, Joslin, Rudy, Emma, Joel, Sarah, Ellie, Charlotte, Zak, Kelly, Ben; great-grandchildren, Liam, Alex, Isaac, Davey, Wade, Maddy, Sammy, Jack, Owen, Charlie, Cordelia, Evelyn, Gabriel, Eve, May, Drew, Benny, Audrey, Ruth, Louisa, Hendrick, Sophie, Aubrey; and great-great-grandchildren, Kieran, Lenora, Malcolm, Adelyn.

She will be greatly missed and forever remembered. A private family celebration of life will be held to honour her memory.
