Sharron Janet
Lindsay
August 1, 1942 – May 14, 2026
Mississauga, Ontario - It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Sharron Lindsay (nee Tilbury), in her 83rd year, on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Credit Valley Hospital. Sharron lived life on her own terms and went out the same way, saying in the last weeks she'd had enough treatment and did not believe more years would trump a lack of quality of life. So, she chose to have MAID. She passed gently into the afternoon after having a coffee and a cruller. She was surrounded by her three sons and their partners as well as two of her grandchildren.
Sharron is survived by her sons Michael (Connie, Malakai, Graham, Nicole), Danny (Jack), Donny (Angel, Dylan, Taylor); her step sons Jamie (Sarah, Jeff, Jenna), and Jerry (Sandra, Jordan, Jerra); and her brothers, Bryan and Ron. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Bob; her parents, Harry and Sarah Tilbury; her sister, Judy Stait and her step son, Sergeant Jeff Lindsay (Nadia, Emmett, Konner).
Sharron worked as a book keeper most of her life though work was a means to an end for her. She and Bob traveled extensively, spent many a winter in Florida and went on numerous Holland America cruises. She was not afraid to roll up her sleeves and dive in to do whatever was needed. She approached most things in life with practicality; didn't suffer fools lightly; and had a particular disdain for the whingers. She also had an ability to laugh at most things, even the pain she felt in those last weeks.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga where Sharron received kind and compassionate care over the years and especially during the last two weeks of her life.
As hard as it is to see her go, the family is grateful she is no longer in pain.
Its been nice knowing you.
