Rory John Schipper

November 9, 1965- December 3, 2023

BEST DAD EVER

We sadly announce the passing of our dear partner, brother, father, son and friend after a short battle with cancer at The Emmanuel House in Hamilton, Ontario on December 3, 2023.

Rory is survived by his wife Crystal, two sons Marco and Brandon, in-laws Al and Mary and his sister Tracey.

He was predeceased by his Sister Debbie Proctor (2010) sister Julie Hooper (2013) mother Sandra Schipper(Edward’s)2016 and Father John Schipper (2021)

Rory was born in Medicine Hat Alberta and shortly thereafter moved to Calgary Alberta where he was raised with his three sisters. He enjoyed an active childhood which included camping, dirt biking, downhill skiing, and waterskiing.

Rory moved to Ontario in the late 80s where he had many life experiences. Eventually meeting his partner Crystal and starting his family. Rory grew to be an honourable, kind, hard working and loving husband and father. He helped others whenever he was able. And cared about people in general.

Rory loved his family first but he enjoyed summers and weekends at the Willow Lake RV Park and golfing as often as he could (more than he should) and various other activities with close friends and family.

Rory was taken way too young at just 58 years old. Thankfully he was able to celebrate that birthday with his family, sister, and best friend Richard. Surrounded by the people he loved.

He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A celebration of Rory’s life will be held at the lake next summer as per Rory’s wishes. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be made in Rory’s honour to one of the following:

As they took excellent care of Rory and assisted him to pass peacefully, with dignity and without pain.
