It is with profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) William Nichols. Bob passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026 at the age of 82, surrounded by the love of his family.

A true Hamilton legend, Bob, together with his father and close friends, helped create a minor hockey system that became second to none anywhere. His passion, leadership, and dedication shaped generations of young athletes and families, leaving a lasting impact on the community he loved so dearly.

Beyond his accomplishments, he will be remembered most for the joy he brought to others. He always had a joke to tell, a smile to share, and a way of making everyone feel welcome. His warmth, humour, and generous spirit filled every room he entered.

Born in Hamilton on June 2, 1943, Bob built a life around family, friendship, community, and hard work. Nothing meant more to him than the people he loved.

He leaves behind his loving wife Kim, his children Alicia (Jeff), Kris (Oxana), Joel (Caroline), grandchildren McKayla, Peri, Lucy, Ben, Will, Jonah, and Mat, brother Jan (Jan), extended family, and countless friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
