Robert Ludwig Gutwein

Robert unexpectedly left this world the same way he lived in it - full of joy, love and mischief.

Predeceased by his mother, Theresia, Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Wendy, his children Tamara (John) and Bob (Jacque), his grandchildren, Bobby, Jackson, Elise and McKenna, and his precious great-granddaughter Violet. Robert will be missed by his sister Linda (Gord) and his brother, Edward (Kathy). He also leaves behind his best friends, Peter and Linda, Gary and Naomi and his Thursa.

Robert never met a stranger and his loss is felt by his many friends and coworkers at Zurich Canada and Accident Support Services International, and his Summit Heights family, where he resided for the past 10 months. We cannot thank everyone at Summit Heights and Bayshore enough for the incredible care and dedication.

We are all so grateful for the extra time we had, but it wasn’t enough. Our hearts are shattered. Words can’t put into perspective the magnitude of our loss.

Cremation has taken place and services are not being held. Please celebrate Robert with a toast and a favourite memory.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, you hug your loved ones a little tighter and perform a random act of kindness (randomacts.org) to share Robert’s spirit with others. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would also be appreciated.
