It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Maltais on June 26, 2024. Whether you knew him as Bob, Frenchie, Daddy, or Pepere, his spirit, passion, and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 45 years, Mary Lou, a love that was the cornerstone of his life. His children, Mariette (Doug) and Christopher (Stephanie), were his pride and joy, and his grandchildren, Steve, Adam, Shawn, Ryan, and Danica, brought him immeasurable happiness. He's now reunited with his son Reno, a reunion that comforts us in this time of loss.
Born in Eel River Crossing, New Brunswick, on February 8th, 1950, it wasn't long before his lifelong passion for cars and motorcycles was ignited. He took great pleasure in his Harley-Davidsons, whether riding solo or with a group of close friends for a longer journey. His knowledge of cars was legendary, and his ability to recognize the make and model of any car was second to none.
Never one to back down from a challenge, he faced his cancer diagnosis with remarkable courage, strength, and bravery. He may have had cancer, but cancer never had him.
As per his final wishes, his last few weeks were spent lovingly embracing his family and a few close friends. Their unwavering support and love were his greatest comfort. Cremation has already taken place, and a private gravesite ceremony will be held at a later date in New Brunswick. Those who wish to honor his memory can donate to a charity of their choosing.
