Obituary for Robert James Rosamond
December 4th, 1948 – December 10th, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) James Rosamond, who died on December 10th, 2024, at the age of 76 at St. Catharines General Hospital. Born in Toronto, Ontario, on December 4th, 1948, Robert was the son of the late Gwendolyn Leyland Rosamond, who passed away on December 11th, 2013, and Alfred Rosamond, who also predeceased him. He was survived by his Brother Brian Rosamond. In his later years Bob would visit Brian, both enjoying sharing memories of their lives and their Mother. Bob’s relationship with his beloved Mother carved his strong sense of duty and commitment to his loved ones. In his adulthood, Bob proudly served as a Special Constable, dedicating many years to his role in law enforcement. His dedication to justice and service to the community were pillars of his character and left a lasting impact on those who knew him. Despite life’s challenges, he always maintained a generous spirit and a sharp sense of humour. He was a loyal friend and a loving family member, known for his countless acts of kindness. A source of immense pride and joy in Robert’s later years was his granddaughter, Gwendolyn Paige Rosamond. Robert showed Paige, whom he referred to as his “little angel,” boundless love and kindness. He often visited her, offering support throughout her upbringing and educational journey. Their special bond was a source of comfort and strength for both of them. Paige will carry his memory with her always, and his love will remain a guiding presence in her life. Although Bob and Diane Rosamond, his ex-wife, had been separated for many years, they remained good friends and close companions. Diane's unwavering support and friendship were an important part of Bob’s life, and their bond was truly special.
In accordance with his wishes, Bob will be cremated, and his ashes will be spread in a private ceremony by his loved ones. No formal service will be held, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
Rest in peace, Papa. Your kind spirit will be forever in our hearts.
