Robert Joseph Hunt (Bob) May

18, 1948 - August 17, 2024

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Bob Hunt on August 17, 2024, surrounded by music, laughter, love and tears by his loving partner Jacqui and family. Predeceased by loving parents Robert (Bob) and Susan Hunt. Survived by his soul mate of many years, Jacqui Hadaway, who cared for him with such love and dignity. His loving sons Dan, Steve and Jeff (Kate) and precious granddaughter Olivia will mourn and miss him with the support of their mother and gramma, Joanne. His stepchildren Howie (Jessica), Joey (Ashlee) and grandchildren Yarrow, Hazel, and Xavier also shared many years of love with Bob and grampa. He will be so sadly missed by his brothers Bill (Marisu, "Stu", nee Dennis), Doug (Debbie Parnell) and sister Cindy (Barry Walsh). Bob also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephew, along with their children who all absolutely adored him. He was a special part of a large family of aunties, uncles, many cousins and dear friends, especially life-long buddy Randy, whose hearts he touched over the years.

Bob grew up in Dundas and played football in high school at Dundas District, and in Peterborough, and was selected to try out for the Ottawa Rough Riders. He attended McMaster University and graduated with a BSc. His work life started at W.R. Barnes (29 yrs) where he helped manage the Canada Talc Division. He founded Hunt Industrial Minerals and then joined Trinity Resources, retiring in 2010 when he and Jacqui started their own business of renovations and landscaping. He spent his life helping friends, family and acquaintances with anything and everything. He gave totally of the heart, and was very involved in the Unity church where he served the community for many years. Bob, you were "one of a kind," you have led all of us with your fun, laughter and song for so many years.

Special, sincere thanks to his "angel" nurses, and special care received by doctors on 7 and 8 South, HGH.

Visitation with a period of sharing memories will take place on Saturday, August 31 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Marquis Gardens on 1050 Rymal Rd. E., Hamilton. A Celebration of Life will follow from 1:00 - 5:00 pm. The family requests donations to Hamilton Music Collective https://hamiltonmusiccollective.ca/ in lieu of flowers.
