As we commend his soul to heaven, it's with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rick on Friday July 19th, 2024. Rick was born July 17, 1949, in Hamilton, to Rick and Charlotte Perron. He will be remembered as a loving, true family man and a kind, good friend. Rick is survived by his best friend and wife of 48 years, Danica Perron. He was a proud dad who loved raising brave, fearless boys, taking them dirt biking, supporting them in all of their sports and creating unforgettable memories on many vacations.
He will be deeply missed by his sons Rick Jr, Daryl (Mair) and Andrew. Rick was blessed with 8 grandchildren whom he adored: Olivia, Jakob, Ian, Alba, Tate, Bronte, Jordyn and Dean. His memory will continue to live on in their young spirits. Predeceased by both of his parents and siblings Kevin, Dawn and Beau, he also leaves behind siblings Guy, Valentine, Lorne and Dianne as well as many nieces and nephews. Rick loved and highly respected his in-laws (Kartalija family).
Funny story: he went to Branko to ask for his daughter's hand, and Branko served him too many šljivovica. It was almost a disaster before it even started. Needless to say, they were married on Valentine's day in 1976 and lived a beautiful life together (minus the šljivovica).
Rick took great pride in being a hard worker his whole life and was a 4th generation owner who ran his family flooring business, (Osgood's Flooring est, 1912). A true Hamiltonian, Rick attended both Barton and Cathedral schools and loved a good Ticat game with friends. His message in life was simple: work hard, love deeply, forgive quickly, and keep smiling.
Cremation has taken place. Please join us to celebrate Rick's life. This will be a dual celebration, as Rick's mother, Charlotte Perron, who passed on January 2, 2023, will also be celebrated on this day. Aug 15th - Funeral 11am.
