Richard James Day

December 21, 1935, to October 5, 2024

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Richard James Day on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

Richard was predeceased by his loving wife, Diane (nee Hamill) Day.

Richard was beloved father to his three daughters, Laurie (Chris) George, Lisa (Gary) Gallant, Leanne (Dominic) Lagana. Richard was also extremely proud grandfather to all of his grandchildren, Sarah (Kyle) Southworth, Jonathan (Aryel) Gallant, Matthew (Shannie) George, Emily (Jeffery) Robichaud, Melissa (Aladdin) Elrouby, Nicole and Danielle Lagana. Richard was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren.

Richard loved to travel and enjoyed life. During the summer you would find Richard traveling through the Trent Severn lock system on his pontoon boat. During winter months, Richard spent time fishing, playing cards and calling bingo in Lake Okeechobee Florida.

Richard's favorite trips were those on a cruise ship which combined his love of travel with his love of the water.

Richard will be dearly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

The family would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the trauma team at the Hamilton General Hospital, along with special thanks to his family practitioner Dr. Canning.

Funeral to be held on Saturday October 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. St. John's Anglican Church, 272 Wilson Street East, Ancaster, Ontario, with reception follow.
