Barker, Richard (Grinder)
After a lengthy fight with end-stage COPD, he passed away in his sleep on February 3rd, 2024, at General Hospital Hamilton, Ontario 8 West at age 70. Lovingly remembered by his wife Marg 53 years of marriage. Loved by his three beautiful daughters Sherri (Russ) Tara, and Rebecca (Aaron) 7 Grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, sister Marilyn (Thornton) 4 nieces, 2 nephews, and all their children. Predeceased by his mother Ruby Barker, Father Norman Barker, Brother Art Barker, and Brother-in-law Brian Thornton, He worked for Taylor Steel Inc. For 48 years driving trucks. He loved traveling to Cuba, listening to country music, Huge Nascar fan. Loved his friends and had many. Proud man when it came to his family, would always say “I'm not a rich man but in family I'm a millionaire.”
The family wants to thank all the doctors and nurses nurses ath and 8 west General Hospital for all they did. A huge Thank you to Dr. Raghavan and Dr. Goodacre for your extended help over the years. Arrangements have been entrusted to Affordable Burial and Cremation.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 1-4pm at Shriners club on Melvin Ave. Donations to the Canadian lung association would be appreciated by the family.
