Patricia (Patsy) Mackinnon

1943 – 2026

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Patricia “Patsy” Mackinnon on January 30, 2026, at the age of 82. Surrounded by the love of her family, she began her final journey from The Willowgrove in Ancaster, Ontario.Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Patsy never lost the warmth and spirit of her East Coast roots. She was the third of ten children, a position in a large family that shaped her into the kind, generous, and devoted woman she was. Family was her north star; she was a loving mother to Christopher (Karen) and grandmother to Ashley (Joshua) and Elyse (Mitch). Her legacy of love continues through her great-grandchildren, Paige and Winslow. She loved to spend time with her many nieces and nephews.Patsy found joy in life’s simplest pleasures. Whether she was cuddling her cats, meticulously working through a crossword puzzle, or singing along to her favourite country music, she did so with a smile. She was the queen of karaoke and never missed an opportunity to share a corny joke to brighten someone's day. Her happiest moments, however, were spent around a table enjoying a Sunday dinner, surrounded by the family she adored.The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at The Willowgrove for the exceptional care and love provided over the last two years. You became a second family to her, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

As per Patsy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a family gathering will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Hamilton SPCA.
