Patricia Jean Hunt

September 28, 1946 — March 21, 2025

It is with a heavy heart to inform everyone of the passing of our beloved mother Patricia Hunt. Passed away peacefully today, March 21, 2025 at the age of 78.

She was born in Hamilton on September 28th 1946. She spent much time with family until her teenage years until moving to Gary, Indiana. She loved her life, family and country and even given the opportunity to change her citizenship to American she elected to stay Canadian. In America she met James Hunt and got married. They had four children.

In 1984 she decided to move back to Canada in the hopes to give us a better life.

And she did, because of her decision to come here we are blessed with so much and with so much loving family. She always tried her best to help us in anyway that she could. I know she will always be with us and watching over us.

She leaves behind John Hunt, James Hunt and daughter-in-law Vicky Hunt. Grandchildren Brian, Jennifer, Jamie and Hannah. Loving cousin to Susan, Carol and Laura. Also she leaves behind many nieces and nephews-in-law as part of our growing family.

She was preceded in death by her first child, Kim in a tragic accident in 1981.

Lost her husband James in 1995

and in 2011 she lost her remaining daughter, Tina, to cancer.

"Miss me but let me go. When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom filled room. Why cry for a soul set free. Miss me a little but not too long and not with your head bowed low remember the love that we once shared miss me but let me go. For this is a journey that we all must take and each must go alone. It's all part of the Masters plan a step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart go to the friends we know and bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me but let me go. "

"God took you Home. In tears we saw you sinking and watched you pass away. Our hearts were almost broken we wanted you to stay. But when we saw you sleeping so peaceful free from pain, how could we wish you back with us to suffer that again. It broke our hearts to lose you but you did not go alone for part of us went with you the day God took you home."
