It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Marie McKay (née Olmsted) on August 24, 2026.

Nancy was a loving, kind and caring person who was fortunate enough to have many wonderful friendships throughout her life. Some began in childhood and lasted a lifetime. She cherished her “Pizza Girl” lunch friends, Adventure Club/card friends, neighbours who became friends, and her friends at TEAD Therapeutic Riding Centre.

Nancy had a lifelong love of animals. Her cats, Riley and Lexi, brought her great happiness and companionship at home. At TEAD, volunteering among the horses brought her tremendous joy.

Nancy was also highly respected for her years working with Dr. Freddy Hargreave, where her dedication and exceptional organizational and secretarial skills supported his clinical and research work.

Nancy was predeceased by the love of her life, Stuart, her parents, Clifton and Helen, her siblings, Shirley and Garry, her nephew Ryan and her sister in law, Evelyn.

She will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Ron, her nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and by her many dear friends.

Nancy will be remembered for the love she had for her family, friends and animals, and for the joy she found in the simple pleasures like sewing her own highly anticipated halloween costumes, her “matchy-matchy” outfits and accessories and of course her belgian cookies.

In lieu of flowers, donations to TEAD Therapeutic Riding Centre would be appreciated in Nancy’s memory.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday October 18 from 1pm-4pm at The Brown Barrel Eatery in Hamilton.

Rest peacefully, Nancy. You will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
