Michael John Richards

Passed away suddenly on November 23, 2025 at Hamilton General Hospital at the age of 81. Lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years Shirley, nee (Bell), son Peter (Beverly Trist-Stewart) Grandchildren, Jessica, Cooper (Lindsay), Dr. Michael Arnason and Rebecca Stewart (Taylor DeYoung), Great grandchildren, Lily, Aaliyah, Mateo and Theodore. Sister Brenda Upson (Al), Paul (Hilda), predeceased by sister Jean and brother Jim. Brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, that Mike was so very fond of.

Mike was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy. He was very proud to have served on board HMCS Haida, which he helped to decommission in 1963. Mike worked at International Harvester before starting his 30 year career as an inspector at The Dominion Foundry & Steel Company of Canada, Dofasco. 

A special thanks to the paramedics, doctors and nurses at the General for their care, compassion and humanity while dealing with our family, and in their attempts to save Mike’s life. May God hold you all in the palm of His hand. 

A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, December 7 from 1pm to 4pm at Knights of Columbus Club - 222 Queenston Rd. Hamilton ON L8K 1G6 Canada
