Michael Charles Lacroix

March 8, 1954 — June 25, 2024

In the early evening on June 25th, Michael Charles LaCroix passed away peacefully surrounded by his sons Matt, Tim and Brent.

Mike had loved tinkering and coming up with ideas on how to do things differently, better and uniquely his own. He frequently would design new devices, processes, buildings, etc. in his spare time. He would educate anyone who would listen (including frequent letters to the editor of the local paper) on his latest ideas. He would argue how things were better in his day, how the goalie just needed to stay on his feet to make that save, that baseball is just too much about data analytics this day, or if someone only listened to him about idea x, y z when he was younger (which finally caught on decades later) he (and they) would have been rich. He enjoyed playing hockey, golf and baseball (where he met his loving wife Marion) when he was younger and bowled (where he was known as Crank Ball to many) right through this year with his friends and sons (even if Brent grumbled about going). Music was a passion, he enjoyed listening and had amassed hundreds of vinyl albums (which he would tell you was the best way to listen to music) and also dabbled playing and recording guitar and synthesizer. Although less frequently known, Mike also wrote poetry for his wife Marion and sometimes even to go along with gifts at Christmas. Mike was one who would complain and grumble about getting a new pet, but be the first one to hold and cuddle them and become their best friend. He has dealt with a combination of heart issues and MS for the past 2 decades and did all he could to avoid it getting in the way of his life and doing the things enjoyed. Mike always offered to help whether it was to drive someone when he could, help build something, lend equipment to them, it did not matter. He will be missed by all who knew him and will leave a lasting memory to all he touched.

He leaves behind his loving wife Marion, brother Randy, sons Matt (and wife Kate), Tim and Brent and mother in law Patricia Pauley.
