Meredith Anne Ross
March 30, 1985 - January 03, 2026
Our courageous, quirky, smart, funny and feisty girl lost her battle with a 9-month long illness.
Meredith (Mere) was so deeply loved by her parents Rob and Heather Martini and John Ross. Cherished big sister of William Ross (Emily) and Sammi Martini (Daniel) and also mourned by sisters Ciara and Calleigh Ross. Dearly loved by her grandparents Richard and Dianne (predeceased) Martini, Margaret and Arthur Grinstead (both predeceased), and Isobel Ross. Also left to mourn are many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Especially close to Mere were her Uncle Jay and cousin Sarah who joined the family in sitting with Mere her final days.
Mere was devoted to the profession of nursing, and without hesitation stepped up to work in a covid unit at Hamilton General hospital during the pandemic. Mere enjoyed anything to do with animals, especially horses. She rode, worked at stables and assisted in delivering foals. Mere loved her own horse Blue, and missed him terribly when he passed several years ago. Her current “animal kingdom” consisting of the family dog and three cats, gave her great pleasure and comfort, especially when she was ill. She loved alternative rock music and had a blast with her brother at the Oasis concert in August.
Thank you to all who prayed and meditated for Mere to feel nothing but love as she prepared for her journey. Mere’s family will be forever grateful to the EMS responders, and the nurses and doctors at St Joseph’s ICU, especially nurse Emma. Everyone showed enormous compassion for Mere and understood who she was.
Rest in eternal peace Meredith. We will love you forever.
In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to your favourite animal charity.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mere’s life at the RBG Rock Garden Centre from 5-8pm on March 30, 2026 - 1185 York Blvd, Hamilton ON L0R 2H9. Please mark this date on your calendars.
