O' Dowd, Maureen (Holt)

It is with profound sadness that the family of Maureen O'Dowd (née Holt) announce her sudden passing on July 12, 2026, at Hamilton General Hospital, at the age of 81.

Maureen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul O'Dowd.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Debra and Ryan(Nicole). She was a devoted grandmother to Campbell (Britney), Logan, Roan, Ewan, Leila, and Ella, and a proud great-grandmother to Blakely.

Maureen was predeceased by her siblings Catherine, Margaret, and Thomas, and is survived by her sister Jean, who resides in Australia.

She was the cherished daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Holt.

Maureen will also be fondly remembered by her extended family, including Evelyn and Brittany Van Fleet, along with her many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends around the world.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff of the Hamilton General Hospital Emergency Department, ICU, and Hamilton Paramedic Services for the compassionate care and support they provided.

In keeping with Maureen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
