Marilyn I. Harrison

It is with sadness that we announce Marilyn Iris Harrison passed away peacefully at the age of 82.

Born in Australia, Marilyn immigrated to Canada in 1970, where she built a life rooted in faith, family, and service. A devoted lifelong Christian, she was deeply committed to her church community (Little Trinity Anglican Church Toronto, ON) and sought to live out her faith through kindness, generosity, and quiet acts of love.

She was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Ivy Johns, and by her sisters, Fay Johns and Beryl (Keith) Kilner.

She leaves behind her two daughters, Natasha Harrison (Brian Purdy) and Emily Harrison (Craig Snowden). Though she had no grandchildren, she treasured the role of godmother to Anthony Mousley (Heather Sinnema & Jonathan Mousley) and Isla Pearce (Rachel Day & David Pearce).

Marilyn found great joy in music, singing, gardening, and a wide variety of handicrafts, especially quilting. She also had a special affection for cats, which brought her much companionship and happiness throughout her life. Above all else, she was devoted to her family and friends, and nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with those she loved.

While dementia gradually took much from her, it never diminished the lasting impact she had on the lives of those around her. She will be remembered for her steadfast faith, creative hands, and loving heart.

Though she is no longer with us, we take comfort in the hope of the resurrection and the promise that she is now at peace in the presence of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

A Celebration of Life  will be held Little Trinity Church, with details to be shared with family and friends.
