WEISS, Maria

It is with great sadness that

we announce the passing of

Maria on January 9,2024 in

Brantford Ontario.

She will be missed by her

husband of 60 years Gunter;

her daughter Claudia (Tim);

her grandchildren Claire and

Olivia; her sisters Waltraud,

Rita and Gertrude (Dieter) and

lifelong friends Frank and

Hildegard Bittner. Maria is

now reunited with her sister

Erika, brother Martin, and son-

in law Tim.

Maria was born in Aichhalden

Germany on March 8, 1944.

Maria and Gunter married in

1963 and immigrated to

Canada in 1967 with their

young family.

She enjoyed

her career as a hairdresser

and owner of her salon in

Hamilton, Hair Unlimited. She

loved to make people feel

beautiful.

She enjoyed time at her

cottage in Algonquin

Highlands and especially her

gardens. When not at the

cottage she and Gunter

travelled the world. Maria

enjoyed hosting many family

gatherings making wonderful

memories for her family.

As per her wishes cremation

has taken place and a private

family burial will take place at

a future date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to

Alzheimers Society of Canada

memory would be

appreciated by the family.
