Ludvigs (Louie) Robert Geske of Hamilton died peacefully on Monday, February 21, 2022. Louie was born on June 7, 1930 in the Village of Burtnieki, Latvia. During WW2 his family fled Russian occupation and they settled temporarily in a Displaced Persons Camp in Augsberg, Germany. On or about 1949, Louie immigrated to Canada, landing in Summerside, PEI before joining his family members and settling in Hamilton, ON. Louie was a highly skilled repair man with a sharp and meticulous mind; he loved to keep busy, he was able to fix most anything and he was always willing to help others out. He was an upbeat, intelligent, kind and positive man, who enjoyed a full, but quiet life with family and friends. Louie loved to have an after dinner “cold brewski” on his back deck in the hot summer sun while in the company of his faithful dachshund, Rudi. Louie worked at Ford Motor Company, Oakville Assembly Plant for 31 years until he retired in 1994. In 1971 he married Yvette Marie Cecile Black and together they would have celebrated 51 years of marriage on February 27, 2022. Louie is survived by his wife Yvette, his son Richard Geske, his daughter Tina Aloisio, his daughter-in-law Stella Veliotis, his son-in-law Dino Aloisio, his beloved grandchildren: Alexander and Lukas Geske and Ava and Dean Aloisio, his sister-in-law Marie Geske and many in-laws in both Ontario and New Brunswick. He was predeceased by his brother Gunnars Geske, his sister Rasma Kubis and his brother John Geske. A private cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at a later date. We invite you to please leave a message on Louie’s tribute page.
