Lois Elaine Short

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lois Short, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished member of her community. 

Lois was the kindest soul you could ever meet. She radiated warmth and comfort, making everyone feel welcome and at ease. She was rarely far from a good book and loved to sing, dance, and bring laughter to those around her. 

Lois shared her life with her husband, Ron Short. Together, they celebrated 50 years of marriage, marking the milestone on September 14, 2024. Family was at the heart of their life together. Lois was a devoted mother to William and Aaron; a cherished mother-in-law to Jocelyn and Sarah; a loving sister to Joanne; and a proud grandmother to Lydia, Audrey, Paityn, and Emersyn. 

Few things brought her more joy than cheering on her sons and later her granddaughters from the sidelines of hockey rinks, baseball diamonds, and basketball courts. Lois' absence will be deeply felt, not only because she was deeply loved, but because being around Lois made you feel loved. Lois leaves behind her husband, Ron; her sons and daughters-in-law; her granddaughters; her sister; and the many people whose lives she touched.
