Lawrence Lynn Patershuk
March 24, 1923 - March 25, 2026
After a brief illness, Lawrence Lynn Patershuk passed away peacefully at Hamilton General Hospital on March 25, 2026 in his 104th year. He will be profoundly missed by his children Debra Wingfield (husband Martyn) and Rodney (wife Diane), his four grandchildren – Chelsea (husband Trever), Dayna, Tegan and Alexandra - and his great-grandchildren, Palmer, Adler and Miller. As a grandfather (known to many as “Moshu”) and great-grandfather, he was in his element.
Lawrence was born March 24, 1923, in Usherville, Saskatchewan, as the 7th son of 14 children born to Alice and Peter Patershuk. At age 14 he began working part-time to support his family and at age 16 began working full time at a logging camp, followed by jobs in construction and welding. He met Nettie Rivney while he was a patient in her care in Preeceville Saskatchewan. On June 5, 1952 he married Nettie and then they moved to Hamilton, Ontario. They had two children and settled on Hamilton mountain. Throughout his career in Hamilton he worked at S.F. Bowser, Union Drawn Steel and Jervis B. Webb. At age 65, Lawrence retired from Jervis B. Webb in Hamilton as a Shop Foreman with 20 years of service.
Lawrence’s family wishes to thank the staff of Amica Dundas, 8 West at the Hamilton General, as well as the HGH Internal Medicine service. Cremation has taken place. A donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated in honour of a life well-lived.
Moshu, we’ll meet again on the other side.
