Lauren Madison

October 18, 1994 – January 14, 2023

Lauren passed away at home in her mother’s arms after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was so strong and brave through all of it.

Lauren will sadly be missed by her mom Karen, the best brother in the world Grayden, aunts Kris (Jeff), Lorie (Anna), Grandma Myrna, Grammerjammer (Jan) as well as close cousins Alayna, Logan, Amanda (Matt), Catherine (Darcy), David (Nicole) along with all the rest of her family and friends.

Lauren loved to travel, especially to Mexico. She had a two-month backpacking trip booked in October to Mexico that she had to cancel due to her diagnosis. She really wished she were able to go on that adventure!

She loved her many cats through her life and was teased about being the “Cat Whisperer” for her special talent of having the most scared cat warm up to her.

Lauren loved hard – her small circle of friends that she kept close, human rights causes that she fought for and most importantly Grayden – she loved and protected him the most.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Lauren through all of this included her Palliative Care team at Juravinski Cancer Centre, especially Jennifer (RPN), her St. Joe’s Home Care nurse who took the best care of her each day at home.

Lauren will be cremated she will be scattered at Punta Sur on Isla Mujeres, Mexico which was a very special place to her, and a celebration of life will take place this summer to honour and remember her.
