Keith Macpherson

March 25, 1940 — May 6, 2022

Keith Norman MacPherson March 25, 1940 –May 6, 2022 He was larger than life, and for that reason, despite his age of 82, his passing seems premature. Many people appear old at 60, but he was a “young” octogenarian.Born in the town of Haileybury, he was the youngest bus driver in Canada at the age of 16. Perhaps his 6-foot 4-inch frame made people think he was older! His career with the Ministry of Transportation took him to many parts of the province. He made an impact wherever he went, whether coaching his sons in hockey or managing other teams. In Hamilton, he helped many young players obtain bursaries through the Hamilton Husky Hockey organization. He was voted into the Huskies Hall of Fame as a builder for all of his efforts. But his great love was his family. He and his wife of 62 years, Eileen, (nee Kelly), had three children, Jim MacPherson (Patti), Kym Ruddick (Steve), and Sean MacPherson (Lisa). They provided him with 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Later after retiring, he found a passion for karaoke singing and was well known at Hamilton establishments and many in Florida where he and Eileen spent several winters. As per Keith’s wishes there will be no funeral, but you can bet there will be some rousing nights at karaoke where his friends will remember his love of song and particularly, people. A Celebration of Life will be held May 29, 2022, from 1-4 pm at 17 Fairfield Drive in Hagersville.
