Karen Ross (December 20, 1958 - December 12, 2023)
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of a very special person shortly before her 65th birthday and retirement. Karen Ross passed away unexpectedly on December 12, 2023, still loved, cherished, and vital to so many. Karen will be deeply missed by her family and remembered as a wonderful mother to Jacob and Shannon, sister to Bruce, Tim, and Gail. Aunt to Crystal, Nolan, Eric, Katie and James. Great Aunt to Arianna and Lucas and grandmother to Kyle and Logan. Karen was called away to be with her parents Ron and June, and her brother Tom.
Born and raised in Hamilton Ontario, Karen was known for her boundless generosity towards her family and those closest to her. As a devout buddhist, she firmly believed in the eternity of life, and we look forward to hearing her in the wind, feeling her in the sunlight, and seeing her in the butterflies and birds. At a later date, Karen will join June and Tom to peacefully rest on top of Grouse mountain in British Columbia. Special thanks is given to the Soka Gakkai community for welcoming Karen into the Buddhist faith, during which she experienced two unforgettable pilgrimages to Japan. She was a pioneer woman who contributed greatly in local Soka Gakkai activities and meetings.
