Reed, Joyce Louise (Hill) February 9, 1928 – June 14, 2021 It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Joyce Louise Reed. Predeceased by husband Frederick Reed (August 2004), grand-daughter Erin Lacey Gendron (November 1983) and great-granddaughter Jayme Kok (February 1992). Loving Mother to 6 children Vicki (Patrick McKeane), Fred Jr./Pudgie (friend Heather), Debbie, Sharon (Bill Gendron), Randy (Jane) and Nancy (Brad Pell). Beloved Grandma to 15 grandchildren, Carrie (Frank Hoben), Kelly (Lesley), Luke (Jess), Stevie (Jon Mancini), Ann-Louise (James Kok), Dawn, Shannon (Vedran Kapetanovic), Laurie (Ryan Stavinga), Erin, Jason (Melissa), Amanda (Pat Turczynski), Ryan, Nikki (James Scarfone), Cody (Stephanie), T.J. and cherished Great-Grandma to 26 great-grandchildren and Great-Great Grandma to 1 great-great grandson. Mom is also survived by her sister Iolla Scott and many nieces and nephews. Such a unique beauty Native/ German descent Mom was as beautiful inside as she was out. Her bright blue eyes, warm smile, and giggle will be imprinted on our hearts forever. Mom didn’t have an easy life and in her early years she dealt with post-partum which at that time was misdiagnosed and misunderstood. She loved her family, nurtured them and did the best she could. The simple things gave her so much joy, baking, shopping, family gatherings and flowers. Her most cherished possessions were pictures of her family. Mom was so strong for so long, even though her stature was small she was mighty. We are so grateful in the end she passed peacefully in her sleep. Our hearts are broken, and we will miss you so much, no more worries it’s your time to rest. Love you Mom xo The family would like to thank the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital and Macassa Lodge for all their kindness and care. Thank you to everyone for your phone calls, texts, messages, cards and flowers. Your thoughtfulness has given us so much comfort. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be arranged at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations are appreciated to the Stroke and Heart Foundation or Indian Residential School Survivors. Thank you the Reed family. “I’ll be seeing you in all the old familiar places. I will find you in the morning sun and when the night is new, I’ll be looking at the moon, but I’ll be seeing you.” “Till the end of time, long as stars are in the blue, long as there’s a spring of birds to sing I’ll go on loving you. Till the end of time, long as roses bloom in May, my love for you will grow deeper with every passing day”
