In Loving Memory of John Anthony Capoferri
February 4, 1954 – October 24, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Anthony Capoferri, a beloved Husband, Father, Papa, Great Nonno, brother, uncle, and friend.
Born on February 4, 1954, John was the cherished son of the late Narduccio and Antonia Capoferri.
John was the devoted husband of his one and only true love, Helen Capoferri. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, memories, and family. Their love was the foundation of his life.
He was a loving father to Stephanie (Sal) Liota and John (Melanie) Capoferri, and a proud Papa to Hannah, Isabella, Joey, and Anthony, and Great Nono to Amari. His family was his greatest joy and his greatest accomplishment.
John will be lovingly remembered by his late brother Amedeo (Lana) Capoferri, and his brother Paul (Rose) Capoferri. He will also be deeply missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Mikey (Robin) Lazar, Sherry (Dave) Morgan, Susie Bosher and partner Raymond, Carl (Cheryl) Lazar, and Gary (Donna) Lazar, and his late brother in laws Steve and Paul Lazar. As well as his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
John took great pride in his career as a mechanical engineer with CNR and later as the owner and contractor of Johnny Capps Contracting. He built a life defined by dedication, hard work, and love for his family.
Those who knew John will remember his loyalty, generous heart, infectious smile, sense of family, and the love he gave so freely to those around him.
Many thanks go out to the nurses and home care workers at Jurvinsky Hospital and the Bob Kemp House for all their care. Special thanks to Dr Steve Hadcock and Dr. Vlahovic who showed incredible compassion and support to John.
As per John’s wishes, a cremation has taken place. A funeral mass to be celebrated at St Margaret Mary Church to be determined. Donations to the Dr. Bob Kemp House is greatly appreciated.
He will be immensely missed, and forever loved.
Until we meet again, John.
Your love will live on in all of us.
Service will be held at a future date
