Van Oosten, John (Johnannes)

Went home to be with The Lord on November 6, 2024. John was a beloved husband and best friend to Jewel-Ann for 33 years. He was the son of Aldert Wortel and the late Grada Wortel. He was the oldest brother to Mary (Ray) Riddiough, Magdaline (Ron) Boilard, Joan (Gerrick) De Demeter, Aldert (Marilyn) Wortel, and the late Hendrick Van Oosten. He was the father of Melinda Van Oosten and Michael Van Oosten.

John was a good man. He was a hard worker who never slowed down and always helped anyone whenever he could. He was a wonderful example of Christ's love on earth, always forgiving, always serving, and always sharing truth in love. He truly walked the walk and was unapologetic about it.

Thank you to the people who took care of John so compassionately and diligently, from the 911 responders to the emergency room team. Your kindness was greatly appreciated.

John did not want any funeral or celebration of life. He believed it was important to show love during life instead of after death. Hug someone now. Visit someone now. Tell someone you love them now. Don't wait.
