Meyer, Johanna (nee Zetlmeier)

Johanna passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on December 29, 2024, at Juravinski Hospital.

She survived her first husband, Karl Meier (passed in 1945) and second husband, Kurt Meyer (passed in 2009). She lived a busy life and is survived by her eight children, Karl (Jane), Norbert (Janet), Sonya (Neil), Ralph (Becky), Richard (Marta), Bentley (Heather), Gary (Shirley) and Eric. She has nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was born in Bayreuth, Germany, on August 22, 1924, and emigrated to Canada for a better life in 1951, living in Hamilton, Ancaster and Dundas.

We were all able to share a wonderful 100th birthday party this past summer where everyone was able to attend. She spent much time talking with family and was especially kind in the time she spent with her great-grandchildren.

We would like to thank Wentworth Lodge, Beech Avenue for their kindness and to the staff at Juravinski Hospital.

A private funeral was held on Friday, January 3.
