Joanne Marie Brittain (nee Pettitt) At the young age of 63 years, Joanne passed away on December 31, 2021 after a courageous battle with MDS. She joins her mother and father (Mary and John), mother-in-law and father-in-law (Ivy and George), and brother-in-laws (Fred, Steve, and Greg). Joanne was a devoted wife to Randy, a loving mother to Heather (Domenic) and Jeremy, and joyous grandma to Myles and Andie. She was a caring sister to Leslie Maclellan (Cam), Debbie Chairot (Tony), Laurie Smith (Steve), John Pettitt (Kathy), Darlene Pettitt (Greg), and sister-in-law to Sharon Hunt (Russ) and Fred Brittain, and a loyal friend to many. Joanne was thoughtful, selfless, and compassionate. She cherished her time traveling with family and friends (especially those trips involving casinos, sunny beaches, or her grandkids). Over 30+ years at Bronzie’s Place, Joanne enjoyed meeting new people and developing lasting relationships with those she saw often. Her sense of humour and infectious laugh will be lovingly remembered by all. As per Joanne’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held in the summer. Her family thanks the staff at the Juravinski hospital and Cancer Centre, the Cancer Assistance Program, as well as Stedman House hospice and palliative care team. In lieu of flowers, Joanne’s family would greatly appreciate any donations to Canadian Blood Services. To make a donation or read more about her journey please visit http://give.blood.ca/goto/Joanne
