It is with great sadness that Sally and Willow Braun-Jackson announce the passing of their beloved husband and father Jeffery Braun-Jackson, on February 22, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer. He was 58. Jeff is survived by his wife Sally and his daughter Willow; brother Jon Jackson, sister Jill Merko (Bob), a neice (Jessica) and three nephews (Matthew, Eric and Tyler). Jeff had many passions. He was a sports enthusiast and could be heard on any given weekend, depending upon the season, loudly encouraging his Habs, the Buffalo Sabres, the Tiger-Cats, the Detroit Tigers, Notre Dame's Fighting Irish or the Buffalo Bills. He loved music, collecting a wide variety of genres on his ipod, and books about history, politics and sports. Jeff enjoyed road trips with his family, and they cherish memories of visiting Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City and the Maritimes. Jeff was also passionate about his work. He loved sharing his knowledge with students at SUNY Buffalo and Memorial University of Newfoundland. Having served as health and safety researcher for the Ontario Professional Firefighters Association, Jeff most recently served as an Executive Associate with the York University Faculty Association where he advised on a wide variety of workers' rights and labour issues. He loved his job and the people with whom he worked. Jeff's loss will be felt by everyone whose life he touched. The family wish to thank Dr Fraser and Dr Hillis for their care as well as the fantastic nurses on 4C Hematology Unit of the Juravinski Hospital. Donations in memory of Jeffery Braun-Jackson may be made to Christ's Church Cathedral (Outreach Programs), or to https://giving.yorku.ca/JeffBraun-JacksonMemorial Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life service will take place at Christ's Church Cathedral, Hamilton, March 26th. Visitation at 1 pm is open to anyone.
