It is with profound sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Jan. She died peacefully in her sleep at home on Friday April 11 2025. She is survived by her best friend Louise Turner, her sister Jeanne Marie Renton & her brother William Jules Renton. A loving aunt to Tina, Jamie ,John Julie & Michael & great nieces Mya & Ava She will be remembered lovingly by her many cousins.

Jan taught in the Ancaster-Hamilton area for 25 years. She taught at Ancaster High School until she retired. She dedicated her life to the students. She never ran out the door at final bell. She was always available to staff & students. She coached teams & was always ready to lend a helping hand. Sports were always important to Jan. At University she was a member of the Women’s Varsity Field Hockey Team & a member of the Women’s Varsity Ice Hockey Team. After university she played on different softball & hockey teams. When she started to winter in Florida she joined the tennis & pickleball clubs. She played right up to the end.

Her deepest love was for horses. On our long trips to Florida or any where for that matter she would be constantly on the look out for horses.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Contributions to the Cancer Society, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or plant a tree. Jan would have appreciated any of these.
