James William Grove December 26, 1937 - October 3, 2021. Passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at St. Peter’s Hospital. Dedicated to his family, Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of over 50 years Pat (Shead) and their children, Debbie and Dennis (Lisa) of Hamilton, son Darren of Selkirk, Manitoba and Tracy (Carlos). His grandchildren, Natasha (Cliff), Kevin (Ashley), Monica and Darren, great grandchildren, Parvati, Paxton, Evelyn and Samson. Sisters, Lorraine, Gwen, Margaret and Gayle (Ted) and brothers, Ron (Barb), Norman (Val), in-laws, Stella, Ann, Mariah, Barb, Bill (Lynn), Dick (Sharon), Joe (Frankie), Nalda, Ethel, all his nieces and nephews. Jim is pre-deceased by his son Kerry James, his parents, Bill and Lorna, brothers, Ken, Ted, David, Denis and his sister Joan. In-laws, Harry and Ruth, Tom and Harry. Jim retired from the Boilermakers, Local 128. He fought many battles and lived the life he loved hard every single day. He told the best jokes and made the best homemade bread. He was a big, intimidating man, but had the most wonderful, hearty laugh, a heart of gold and an extra soft spot when it came to family. He was our superman. Special thank you to St. Peter’s Hospital Palliative Care, Dr. Solomon, Cindy and the amazing staff. CBI, VON nurses and the cancer society. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Peter’s Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada is appreciated. As per Jim’s request, cremation has taken place. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Forever in my heart, love you always, till we meet again.
