It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness we announce the passing of James T. Mills (Pop’s) on January 17, 2022. Pop’s passed from a massive stroke he suffered on December 6, 2021; he fought a hard battle every day. He was a loving husband, father, papa, brother and friend, who wore his heart on his sleeve and opened his home on many occasions, helping family during difficult times. We will remember all the fun times, laughter and all his shenanigans. We will cherish all his stories and adventures: casinos, golfing and the love for his 57’ Chevy. After working years as a General Contractor and Foreman, James retired and was loving life and enjoying retirement. You would find Pop’s enjoying time at the trailer, playing golf, playing pool, dancing, cards and working on home projects. He enjoyed being with family and friends while enjoying a glass of rye. Pop’s was always a fighter, never giving up after all he had gone through the last month. We prayed and hoped for a miracle to come. Pop’s will be deeply missed but never forgotten by his loving wife Darlene, children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, friends and his beloved dog Ginger. We would like to thank all the staff at Hamilton General Hospital Stroke Division for their tremendous care and support they showed through this difficult time. Any donations can be made to @HamiltonHealth.ca/donate in memory of James T Mills. ( specifically to 7 South/West). A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
