James Allan Enright “Jimmy”
Passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026 at his birthplace in Hamilton, Ontario in his 84th year. Lovingly remembered by his daughters Sarah, Jennifer and Katherine and his grandchildren Stellan, Mia and Asia. Predeceased by his partner Lynne Westley and former wife Elizabeth Mounstephen.
Jim was an accomplished civil engineer and project manager. Some of his notable projects included, but not limited to, the Hamilton Spectator, Edmonton Journal, Jade Mountain in St. Lucia and the Canadian Red Cross Society. He was also certified in Construction Mediation & Arbitration providing expertise to clients and educating others.
Jim always loved an adventure, from flying small Cessna airplanes, sailing catamarans and sailboats on lakes and oceans, exploring the Caribbean, Costa Rica and Mexico, riding horseback well into his 70s, to walking shoeless on the shores of Lake Huron.
Thank you to the caring staff at the Chesley hospital in Chesley, Ontario, St. Joe’s hospital and Regina Gardens in Hamilton, Ontario.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Affordable Burial & Cremation. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 11:00 am EDT at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1895 Main St. W. in Hamilton, Ontario where he will be interred. All are welcome.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Toronto Dementia Research Alliance would be welcome by the family.
