Bell, James Alexander

Passed away on Tuesday, August 5th in his 101st year. He was born in Co Down in Northern Ireland, was a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin, and a past graduate of Stanmillis University College, Belfast. Jim has a lengthy teaching career, having taught in schools in Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Southern Rhodesia (now Zabia and Zimbabwe) and finally in Canada with the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board. Jim is survived by his wife, Catherine, and one sister, Greta, in England. Jim was a long-time member of the Church of the Ascension and a former member and Trustee for a number of years. He was granted the Order of Niagara in recognition of his service to the church.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at the Church of the Ascension (corner of Forest and John Street South in Hamilton) on September 6th, 2025 at 11am.
