It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jack Smith on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.  Jack leaves behind his beloved wife of 44 years, Tracy (Lambert) Smith, and his children,Jaclyn (Aaron) and Jake (Krysta). Known proudly as "Pa," Jack was a devoted and loving grandfather to Spencer, Owen, and Rylee, who brought him immense joy throughout his life. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Ruby Smith. He will be deeply missed by his many sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and the countless friends who became family over the years.

Jack worked as a longshoreman at Maritime Data and was a proud member of ILA Local 1654. He valued the friendships and brotherhood he built throughout his career.

Of all the roles Jack held during his life, his favorite was being Pa. He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren. When they were not by his side, he could often be found surrounded by family and fellow union brothers in his backyard. His home was a gathering place where laughter, stories, and friendships were always welcome.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced.
