Irene Zivko

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Irene Zivko, who left us on February 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with illness at St. Joesph’s Hospital. She is predeceased by her parents Petar and Ruzica Zivko. She will be greatly missed by her close circle of friends, family and her cat Heidi.

Irene was a humanitarian that took pride in her work in mental health and helping others in need. Her love for animals, especially her cat Heidi, was a passion that she took to heart. Irene had plans to spend time in nature and travelling to see the world after her recent retirement.

As per Irene’s wishes, there will be a private burial for family and friends where Irene will return to nature at Mount Hamilton Cemetery. A Celebration of Life and memorial will take place in the spring at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Cemetery.

A special thank you to the St. Joseph’s team for caring for Irene during her stay at the hospital.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to a local food bank, Animal Charity or women’s shelter in Irene’s memory.
