Johnston, Helen "Adelaide" (nee Drake)

September 14, 1924 - January 26, 2025

It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Adelaide Johnston on Sunday, January 26, 2025, after a brief illness, in her 101st year.

She will be missed by daughters Janet (Don) Rahelich of South Burlington, VT, Donna Johnston (Ken Williams) and daughter-in-law Brenda Johnston. She was grandma to five granchildren: Becky Treanor, Adam (Amber) Rahelich of Vermont, Jeff Johnston, David (Tiff) Johnston, & Steven (Lana) Johnston. She was GG and GGJ to Ethan & Landon Treanor, Cole, Caden & Gwen Johnston, and Colton Johnston.

Predeceased by husband Robert "Murray" Johnston 1993 and son (Rob) Robert Murray Johnston, 2023.

She was born and raised in Strathroy, ON and moved to Hamilton as a young woman, where she met and married Murray.

Our family would like to thank the staff of Macassa Lodge C3 West for their wonderful care of our mom.

In keeping with Adelaide's wishes, she has been cremated.

A service followed by a light lunch will take place at 1:00pm on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Affordable Burial & Cremation Funeral Home, 205 Nebo Road, Hamilton ON.

A private burial service will occur at a later date.
