It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Geoffrey Peter Leonard Harvey on August 3rd, 2024. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Beryl, and their daughters Carol-Ann (Bill), Debbie (John) and his 4 grandchildren, Julia, Cameron, Joseph and Nicholas. Geoffrey is survived by his sister Joan Cale (Jim deceased) of Canada and his brother Russell (Sheila) of Suffolk. He will be missed by nieces and nephews both in Canada and the UK.

Geoffrey was a long time leader of the Ipswich 6th Scouting Troop before immigrating to Canada in 1964 where he continued as a Scout leader for many years.

Geoffrey had a passion for travel, history, wood working and was an avid reader. He stated that if you teach a person to read, the world will be open to them. He did not believe that books were to be sold but should be available to everyone. He also believed that knowledge of history is important so that society does not repeat its past mistakes.

In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations to your local library, a museum or Scouts Canada.

A celebration of life will take place at The Villages of Glancaster clubhouse on September 6th from 12-3 pm.
