The family of Hamilton’s original wild child, Garry Duncan Leitch, is devastated to announce his passing on April 9 at the age of 67 in Gatineau, Quebec.

Throughout his life, Garry exhibited a thirst for freedom and adventure, beginning with his nearly daily escapes from Lucky Day Nursery School. He eventually found success with those early impulses to bolt on the high school track team, and found adventure during his time in the Royal Canadian Navy. Later in life, he developed passions for cooking, gardening and fishing. A life-long supporter of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Garry proudly sported black and gold wherever he went.

Garry’s exuberance and quick-witted humour will be sorely missed by his sister Isabel, nephews Ryan and Todd (Stella), niece Erin, the Ross and Sutherland families, as well as his many friends in the Rue Leduc neighbourhood. Garry is predeceased by his father Duncan, his mother Mary, and his sister and best friend Elizabeth.

A private celebration will take place at a later date.
