Frederick Edward Hill

March 19, 1937 — June 27, 2024

Frederick Edward Hill (Fred) March 19th 1937- June 27th 2024

Not too sure if Fred is riding a Harley, or detailing a Jaguar or cutting the grass in his current

state, but I would like to believe that he is doing whatever his heart desires with his favourite

people and beloved dog Sadie by his side.

Fred grew up in Smithville and was a volunteer for the Smithville Fire Department and based on

his stories was quite a rebel in town.

He lived most of his life in Ancaster with his wife Judy and daughter Lissa.

Fred worked in the grocery business and managed Dominion and A&P stores and later as a

retirement position worked for Eight O’clock coffee and worked as a consultant.

Fred loved horses, cars and motorcycles. He was part of the Ancaster Saddle Club, raced cars

in his youth. He became very involved in the Jaguar Club and then in his late 60’s got his

motorcycle license and was a member of the Hamilton Hog group.

Predeceased by his wife of 43 years Judy (nee Coles) survived by his favourite and only

daughter Lissa Hill and her partner Rob McLaughlin and his honorary grandkids Dawson (Jo)

and Sarena McLaughlin (Alex)

Survived by many nieces and nephews from both the Hill and Coles families that will with no

doubt miss Fred’s laughter and one liners. He has one surviving sister Marlene and her

husband Merrelle Stirtzinger.

Fred also lost two special partners Eunice Wilkins (2010) and Judy West (2019) both of these

ladies brought love and joy into Fred’s life.

Please join us for a celebration of my father’s life and share stories and memories in Fred’s

hometown of Smithville at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 216 Station Street in the church hall on

July 27th starting at 11:30am.

A huge thank you to the amazing staff at Albright Manor, Pat at Rose Cottage for her amazing

support and Sharon Dorr from the Alzheimer Society, without her I would have been lost.

In Fred’s memory donations would be welcomed to Albright Manor, Rose Cottage Visiting

Volunteers or the Hamilton Alzheimers Society as these organizations were an amazing support

of help and care for us.

Come and celebrate the coolest of cool guys, Fred Hill
