It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frank on January 21, 2024 at the Juravinski Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Frank was born in Belleville, Ontario, and later moved to Hamilton where it became home. For 30 years, Frank worked in the movie theatre industry as a manager, re-opening Burlington Mall Cinema, opening new cinemas in both Fiesta Mall and Limeridge Mall, and then later, becoming a projectionist. In his final career, he found a love for computers. He was a quick learn, who loved to help people with their computer challenges. Frank was a big Tiger-Cat fan and enjoyed many games, and many beers with good friends and family. He was also a detailed handyman who took great pride in many home renovations over the years. Frank was a lover of golf and enjoyed many golf trips to the East Coast with his golf buddies. He was a member of the Bell League at Chippewa Creek Golf Club in Mount Hope. He was a devoted blood donor who was recognized for his loyal commitment by his Canadian Blood Services friends in December 2023, who presented him with a plaque for his past 327 donations. He will be missed by many who loved him for his BIG HEART, easy disposition and always being willing to provide a helping hand....and of course, hugs galore! He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Debra (Deb) Naphan, and his daughter, Valerie Heffernan (Jeff). Grandpa to Trinity and Payton. Also survived by his little brother, Glenn Naphan (Debbie), his nephew, Shawn Naphan (Vicki), his niece, Angela Henry (Clay) and his "wonderful" mother, Rena Ellis (Ray). Predeceased by his father, Earl Naphan (1984). He was very fortunate to have supportive stepsiblings, Ken Ellis (Kim), John Ellis (Dawn) and Donna Giles (Darryl). He will be deeply missed by his brother-in-law, Don Cruikshanks (Michelle) and their children, JJ Cruikshanks and Abi Cruikshanks.
Special thanks and a big hug to his oncologist, Dr. Rosalyn Juergens, and all the staff at the Juravinski Cancer Centre for their unwavering care. Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers and donations, please consider giving the gift of life, blood!
